Langebaan Lagoon Neighbourhood

Langebaan has a number of distinct neighbourhoods. They are: Main Beach, Sand Baai (Yacht Club), Myburgh Park, Langebaan Country Club & Golf Course, and Club Mykonos.

If you are coming up to Langebaan from Cape Town for watersports, you should try and find accommodation in the main village near Langebaan Main Beach or in the original old village near Sandy Bay (Sand Baai) and the Yacht Club ie also near the beach.

Langebaan Beach Accommodation

Myburgh Park, Langebaan

Myburgh Park is up on the hill on the south side of Langebaan, near the entrance to the West Coast National Park. It is a relatively soulless suburb, with large modern houses and good views.

Because Myburgh Park is perched on the hill, it is even more windswept than other Langebaan neighbourhoods, and there is little in the way of attractive vegetation around the houses. It isn't particulary near the Langbeaan beaches and one would drive to the beach by car.

Langebaan Country Club | Golf Course

Langebaan Country Club Golf Estate isn't near the sea or beaches (5 minute drive). The architecture is horrendous.

But if you're looking for a golfing holiday, then Langebaan Country Club area is a good option. I know very little about this estate, as I'm not keen on golf. It is on the north side of Langebaan on the road from the R27.

Club Mykonos (just north of Langebaan)

Club Mykonos is on the seashore, north of Langebaan and is a holiday resort. If you like resorts, then it's worth investigating Club Mykonos. Technically it isn't part of Langebaan being a just few kilometres north.

Poor Area

This neighbourhood lies between Leentjiesklip, Main St and Seaview Park. It is a poor neighbourhood with no interest for tourists and visitors.

Main Beach / Langebaan Village

"Langebaan" on the map. Langebaan Main Beach area is great for a holiday. You are near the beach, the restaurants, and the watersports. This is a good spot to find accommodation at Langebaan.

Original Village and Yacht Club

The original Langebaan village is between Oosterwal Rd and Sandy Bay (Sand Baai) shore. Langebaan village is an area of little holiday cottages in magnificent positions on the lagoon shore. The area is a 3 minute drive to the Langebaan shops and restaurants.

The lagoon shore here consists of little coves and is an extremely pleasant location. For a watersport enthusiast deciding where to stay in Langebaan, this area is a good accommodation choice.
