Langebaan Lagoon

Langebaan Lagoon is situated approximately 130 km north of Cape Town up the R27 on the West Coast of South Africa. From the centre of Cape Town, an average driver obeying the speed limit will get to Langebaan in 1 hr 15 mins.

The lagoon is a fantastic destination for watersports and is immensely popular amongst widsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing enthusiasts. Although Langebaan is a seaside resort, the lagoon offers great protection and safety from the open sea, allowing visitors to emjoy the benefits of sea based activities without the usual, associated hazards.

The lagoon is approximately 3 kms wide and about 30 km long. Home to flocks of pink flamingos, the southern reaches of the lagoon are protected, and power boating is not permitted in these areas.
